Free Cannabis For The Homeless Of Colorado!
Homeless in the ‘Mile-High City’ of Denver, Colrado, had themselves a marijuana-filled Christmas. Cannabis Can, a non-profit organisation hit the streets of the city on Christmas Eve and gave away 1,000 free, pre-rolled joints to the city’s less homeless, ABC news reported.
Nick Dicenzo, the founder of Cannabis Can, said they are trying to educate people about homelessness and raise money to buy several vehicles and provide restrooms for those in need. “A lot of the people we spoke with really were just like, ‘If I had regular access to a shower, and a haircut my life would be so much better – I’d have so much more opportunity,” Dicenzo said.
In addition to the free joints – with marijuana that Dicenzo said he grew himself – volunteers also passed out fliers and business cards with information about donating.
Even though marijuana has been legal in the state since November 2012, there’s still a host of rules that go along with the drug: users must be over 21; they cannot smoke in public; and they can only hold one ounce at a time.
Dicenzo understands that some people might be against what his group is doing, but he only offered them holiday cheer. “Merry Christmas, Happy Cannamas “ he said. “Spread the word, spread the cheer, to give back.”
