Sefton CVS Rises To The Challenge Of Coronavirus
A recent statement from Sefton CVS outlines their approach to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their Chief Executive, Angela White, writes: “At Sefton CVS we want you to know that we are standing alongside you in this hugely difficult time for you, your staff, volunteers and service users.
Not only have we all had to think about our own organisations in terms of contingency plans and planning to, either, suspend group and community activities and then think of other ways to deliver services, but most importantly how we continue to support some of our most vulnerable members in the community.
At Sefton CVS, like you, we have been undertaking contingency planning, moving to remote working, but importantly working with our key partners in Sefton Council and the Sefton CCG’s in making preparations to deliver a response to COVID-19. There will be announcements about some of these initiatives next week.
Locally we have been advocating with the Council and CCG’s that maintenance of support to the sector is vital at this time, whilst regionally, working with our partners in VS6 to do all we can to lobby for financial support to be made available to the sector to sustain and respond to groups in crisis. Nationally, working with key partners at NAVCA and NCVO to ensure local concerns are fed into the national sphere, re: funding, key worker status and mobilising volunteers, for example.
News and information is moving fast. We have compiled the latest information in this email update and our website (www.seftoncvs.org ) and twitter feed constantly updating, so please follow us.
The response from Sefton’s VCF sector to the COVID-19 crisis has been fantastic. Please keep working together and with us so we all can do our very best for our local communities, with our partners, in the most difficult of times. Stay safe and keep in touch with us at communications@seftoncvs.org.uk “
